KNOCKTOPHER FRIARY | ODOS architects

An award winning project by ODOS architects. An extension and refurbishment of an existing protected friary building in Knocktopher, in Ireland. The scheme was conceived as a contemporary reworking of the traditional cloister format, organising the requirements of the client's brief around a central private courtyard. The palette of materials has been kept to a minimum to enhance the inward clarity and simplicity of the design.

Oh this has such a Tadao Ando pureness to it. Almost JUST pure space...with a touch of materiality.
