CONCRETE LOVE

Concrete love! Four amazing products, four talented designers. A coffee machine by Shmuel Linski, the Gayalux lamp by Xiral Segard, the fragrance series by Alexa Lixfeld and the USB flash drives by ShuChun Hsiao. I love to see how creative minds challenge themselves with this beautiful material. I love the elegant organic form of Xiral's lamp, the primitive and classy look of Alexa's fragrance, the contrast between the roughness of material and the delicate procedure of coffee making in Shmuel's Espresso Solo and last but not least the brilliant concept behind ShuChun Hsiao's gadget where the cemented usb drive tells the digital capacity by its weight. No more words. Enjoy what this beautiful material is capable of when great designers involve!

MINIMALISTIC FAIRY TALE POSTERS BY CHRISTIAN JACKSON

Not a lot can be said about these brilliant posters. A genius, minimal version of famous fairy tales by Christian Jackson. My favorite? Hard to choose, but I'd love to have "The Three Little Pigs" hanging on my wall. You can buy them here.

HANDMADE LIGHTING BY MICHAEL ANASTASSIADES

Lighting, art and kinetic sculptures at the same time. This is how I would describe the work of Michael Anastassiades. A Cypriot designer, with design studies at Royal College of Art, founded his studio in London in 1994. All of his products are handmade and in limited editions. He has exhibited his work in many galleries and museums around the world and his clients include Swarovski, Rosenthal, and Hussein Chalayan.

BALANCE TASK LAMP BY MIEKE MEIJER

Beautiful minimal design in a task lamp I would love to have in my desk. Designed by Mieke Meijer and created for the 'Untouchables' show by Dutch Invertuals. The inspiration came from the structure of a tower crane and the balance is achieved by two wooden posts connected by a single coloured wire. Check out the video for more details.

DESIGN, FROM SWEDEN WITH LOVE

Therese Sennerholt is a Sweden - based freelance art director with a client list that includes among others H&M, Oriflame and Audi. Recently, she launched her own graphic print work, now available in her online shop. What I really like in Therese's work, is the simplicity that lies in her designs and of course the styling, made by the Swedish interior stylist Lotta Agaton.

DESIGNERS OF THE WEEK | LUCIE KOLDOVA | DAN YEFFET

This week's post it's not actually about an artist but about a project. It is called "Muffins" and it is the product of the collaboration between two designers, Lucie Koldova and Dan Yeffet. "Muffins" is a series of ambient lights consist of hand blown glass in various colours and oak wood bases. I haven't decided yet if I prefer the pendant or the table version. But I have to admit that the hand blown glass is impressive in both ways.
