A BUILDING RESTORATION AND A PANORAMIC POOL

I almost screamed when I stumbled upon this incredible concept. A rooftop panoramic swimming pool by the Belgian architecture firm dmva-architecten! And there is also a really interesting story behind this project. Not a lot of images and information are available so let me reproduce what the architects say about their work.

Although the principal dreamed for years of a swimming pool in his small towngarden, he chose to first renovate his 17th century house. While the contractors were about to start the works, the uninhabited school building, adjoining his garden, was offered for sale. The principal did not hesitate, works were stopped and the school building was bought. After many analyses and intense discussions it was decided to realize the swimming pool project first.
